About my Camaro

The engine includes a 1972 seasoned 400 block bored .030 over, Scat steel crank, Scat 5.7 I- beam rods, Keith Black 10.5:1 dished hypereutectic pistons, Milodon 8 qt oil pan and windage tray, Melling select HV oil pump, Lunati Bracket Master II cam with .480 in and .480 ex lift, duration at .050 230 in and 230 ex, Summit aluminum 1.6 full roller rockers, Edelbrock E-Tec 200 heads, Edelbrock RPM AirGap intake, Mighty Demon 750 annular carb, Quick Fuel race pump fuel pump and Holley regulator, Edelbrock aluminum water pump, Griffin aluminum radiator and MSD Pro billet HEI distributor with Taylor ThunderVolt 50 wires, Hooker super comp ceramic coated headers, custom 2 ½” dual exhaust with crossover, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers and cutouts, March pulleys, beefed up 700R4 Trans with TCI constant pressure valve body and TCI 10” 3000 stall lock up converter, GM 10 bolt rear with Auburn Pro Posi unit, 3.73 Richmond gears, rear end girdle, Moser axles, Competition Engineering slide a link t-bars and frame connectors, stronger drive shaft, drive shaft loop and rear sway bar, Competition Engineering 3 way adjustable shocks front, QA1 Adjustable shocks rear, American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels with BF Goodrich radial T/A P275/60R15 rubber in back and 235’s up front, front sway bar, new springs front and rear. It currently has the stock front disc, rear drum brakes, however I will be upgrading these one of these winters. Tunes come from a NOS 1972 GM AM Stereo 8 track. The instrument panel was customized to fit a full compliment of AutoMeter UltraLite Pro Comp gauges. The door handles are from a Cadillac STS and are a nice added touch. To date I have won first in class at Chicago World of Wheels, The Midwest Corvette and Chevy show, Route 66 NMCA/NMRA Super bowl Show and Shine, Super Chevy Show, Gold at Chevy VetteFest, and first, best of show, best engine or best paint at numerous local events. I ran it down the track at Route 66 Joliet, IL in August and first time out in street tune it ran 12.20’s in the ¼ mile all day long. What a blast that was!!! I haven’t  raced in 37 years. I’m sure with a professional tune and some practice it will run 11’s all day long. Although I didn’t build it to race it, it was intended for shows and cruises, I just wanted to see what it would do.

I saw you at the Joliet GoodGuys show. I recognized the color, Standox Lamborgini Pearl Orange. Very very unique color. That is one cool car. I bet you enjoyed the ride around the track.
