Hey everyone, here's my bolt-on 2008 turbo cobalt. Bought it brand new in July 2008. Kept it stock for the first few months until Synapse Turbo out of Scotia, NY came out with some of the first bolt-ons for the new SS/TC. Over the next few months I purchased all their bolt-ons (except turbo kit).
I then upgraded my subwoofer. I had custom fiberglass boxes molded in the trunk by ewcaraudio.com. Matched it with Pioneer subs and amp.
At this point I had some good audio, and decent performance. I fell in love with TWM's shifters, nothing but great reviews. I ended up getting their short throw shifter with the aluminum bushings and the satin black stainless steel weighted ball. I couldn't have been happier with that purchase, no complaints 'til this day.
Windows needed tint next. I went one shade darker than legal for N.Y. state. I ended up with 55% on the fronts, 35% on the back, and a 20% limo (windshield) strip.
Doing extensive research on cobaltss.net I went all in on a turbo upgrade. Not like what most people think of as a turbo upgrade, but a company, Bald Turbo Freak, out of Rochester, NY takes the stock turbo and removes the compressor wheel and replaces it with a slightly modified billet aluminum wheel. The new wheel is supposed to flow ~25% more air. The Owner, Rick, is also an avid tuner of the LNF engine. With his help over the internet via HP Tuners and the addition of my 3" stainless steel muffler-delete exhaust and Dejon intake, I made 306WHP and 335WTQ.
I was content for a while, but my buddy with an '06 V6 Mustang (x-charged and water/meth injected) finally persuaded me into water/meth. An awesome group-buy later on cobaltss.net I have Devil's Own's newest progressive water/meth kit. I only have the controller mounted and wires ran through the firewall, the tank and 250PSI pump still have to be mounted. The Navy has me strapped down for time so things get dragged out a bit. Once complete i'm going to get my what I believe is going to be my last tune hoping to end at 350WHP and 370WTQ.

GM has a stage kit for 290HP, not 290WHP, that kit will probably put you somewhere at 270WHP. If you want to talk HP, not WHP than im making about 332HP.

hella kul.

I have a ZX-2 S/R now. Was thinking of getting a Cobalt.

One question. Cant you get to 300HP by just using the HI-PO kit and stock TURBO that CHEVY makes. They claim 290 HP and that's without a CATBACK/Headers/Throttle Body/Cams/Heads etc.
