About my Firebird

My car is a red 2000 WS6 Trans Am. The current build consists of an F1-C Procharger, iron 408 w/Callies Dragon Slayer crank & H-beam rods, Mahle -8cc pistons, .601/.613, 236/246, 114LSA EPP cam, Morell lifters, ported 6L heads, Comp Pro Mag rockers, Patriot Gold Ext springs, ported Vic Jr intake & ported 78mm TB. I have an EPP FMIC & Alkycontrol system to keep the air cool.

The drivetrain is made up of a purpose built Speed Secrets 4L65E with a Pro Yank Ext 3400 converter, mated by a PST 4” alum driveshaft to a narrowed Moser M9 with 3.50 gears in a True Trac dif. And I have Kooks 1 7/8" headers into a custom 4" I-pipe & cutout with a Magnaflow cat back to keep it quiet.

The suspension consists of a UMI chromoly K member, Lower A arms & Subframe, Madman offset LCAs, QA1 dbl adj shocks & 325lb front springs with BMR drag rear springs. At the track I run Weld Magnum wheels with Hoosier front runners & 13.5/28/15 QTPs.

The fuel is supplied by a NASTY Stage 3 system (dual Walbros by Lonnie, -8AN feed & -6AN return with a Magna Fuel regulator) and a set of FIC 80lb injectors in Edlebrock fuel rails. The driver & rider are protected by an ESS fire suppression system, RJS 5 pt harnesses, and an Elliot 8 pt chromoly roll cage.

So far it's made 777rwhp @ 6k @ 14psi & ran a 9.8 @ 139.8mph on its only trip down the track. That is with a Speed Secrets 2 BAR SD tune in the factory computer. And I still drive it on the street to take it to the local pop stand on weekends & the occasional car show....the last of which I won after the new car show quality paint job was put on.

The future includes a Tony Mamo 'romanced' set of 245 AFR heads, a new oil pan / cooler setup & an NHRA license session at the track to see what it can really run. After that I might even make another trip down to the Bonneville 100 Open Road Race to see if we can win it again!
